Hello. My mother had a quintuple bypass in 1998. She is scheduled to go back in the hospital in the morning for another angiogram. She is a nurse, and never wants the family to worry. She is the backbone of our family. I believe there is a strong possibility there is more going on than she is saying.
She was hospitalized about a month ago because they thought she might have a blood clot in her lung, but tests came back negative. Her previous surgery she almost didn't make it out of. She was very low risk because she worked out, ate right, non-smoker... but had so many complications during and after surgery (veins very tiny and hard to hold during surgery, fluid in lungs). Her condition is hereditary.
I am not sure of the survival rate after a quintuple of how long they say you are likely to survive. I could be reading a lot more into tomorrow's scheduled events... but I am just trying to prepare myself just in case.
Can anyone tell me what this means? Thanks
