That is called a TE Test. A tube with a camera at the end is ran down your throat. It is not as bad as it sounds and you are in a twilight sleep and the back of the throat is sprayed with something that numbs it. I have had it done twice. I was scared the first time but the 2nd time was a breeze. I have to have it done again Friday for a cardioversion. All of my problem is the Mitraal Valve which is located on the back side of the heart and that is the only way they can see it. The back of your heart cannot be seen through other means so it is done this way. Just thank the Good Lord for all of the ways they hAve of doing things otherwise most of us wouldn't be here. As bad as most of them sound they are just there to help us.
