My husband had a heart attack the end of April-no stents needed. Damage was to the "back" of heart. Ejection fraction 35%. He has done extremely well diet wise, lost 43 lbs--no salt

He had a follow up Echo last week , we were to get results today, but his doctor unavailable, clinic had another MD read results but then would not tell us- said husbands own doctor should explain results... of course husband is extremely upset to wait all weekend to see Dr. on Monday.
Does anyone know why this follow up Echo is done and what do they look for and hope to find? Does damage ever improve? Cardiac rehab thought he might need stent???? this was two months ago.
