Extra Valve In My Heart - Heart Disorders Message Board

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of my condition before. I have an extra valve in my heart. It causes my heart to backfire, and I have something of a "mini" heart attack. My doctor told me that it is not common but it is not rare either. I can't remember the proper name he told me, and I cannot seem to find anything on the internet about it. Please help if you can.

I also have an extra valve on my heart, sometimes my heartbeat will be over 300 per minute. I am 50 and as I get older, it seems to become more frequent, the doctor told me years ago I have a birth defect that caused this condition, ultra sounds showed my heart to be strong dispite this, it is scary though and I wonder everytime it happens if this time I will die..
