Heart pain, shortness of breath, blood in sputum (spit)...

... I am a 54 yr old USA guy living in Kyiv, Ukraine (now 5 years). I have never taken many 'meds' and have always been fairly active. In USA I was over 400 pounds (6'6", ex all american wrestler). Here, because of walking everywhere, great REAL food - I have lost and am now down to around 310, my college wrestling weight!

I have had this problem for awhile, after sex I have trouble breathing, wheezing - clicking in my lungs - and I spit up blood in my sputum.

I do notice some heart pain from time to time and I just don't have the energy and I do have shortness of breath when I climb stairs.

In january it was really bad, went to be checked for TB, negative.

I thought cancer, Nope. In early April I had my lungs scoped... nothing
unusual!!

Now just last night I had another episode, today my lungs hurt when I breathe deeply...

I am thinking I need to check my heart, echo-gram? BP is somewhat elevated, but it has always run about 150 / 92....

Sounds like Pleurisy. Blood is normally a sign of an injured area. Injured areas can commonly be the result of infection. Infection can cause Pleurisy.

How often do you spit up blood? Is it just after exertion, or can it happen at any time?

How frequently, if at all, do you feel a fast heart beat, or skipped heart beats, or erratic heart beats. Do you have any problems breathing in a prone position (lying down).

That is not a healthy blood pressure, especially if it averages about 150/92, with readings frequently both higher and lower than that. Constantly high blood pressure can slowly weaken/enlarge the heart, over time.

My opinion is based on my own personal experience, as I have no medical training or education. Just some things for you to consider......

Regards..... hope you recover quickly, and enjoy your new found home in Kyiv, Ukraine.

I would suggest that you get the echo. It's better to be safe than sorry. You could have some valve problems that is throwing blood back into your lungs.

Have you noticed any swelling in your feet and legs?

This might very well not be heart related. But, why not get the echo to be sure?
