Can you explain radiating arm pain

I understand that radiating arm pain would be pain that moves down the arm...or maybe even up. But does that mean in one fell swoop so to speak? In other words, if you have a pain in the bicep area at 9 a.m. and at 1 p.m. you have a pain below the elbow, is that radiating pain? Or is it considered radiating if, at 9:00 a.m. that pain was running from the bicep down the arm?

Does that make sense?

I don't know what to expect if using this symptom as a gauge of possible trouble.

Thanks.

Re: Can you explain radiating arm pain

I would think radiating pain means pain that spreads from let's say your upper arm down to your lower arm, but don't quote me on this. I have had pain in my upper left shoulder for a while now, went through some cardiac testing and everything was normal. What exactly does the shoulder pain mean is something I am not sure of, but if there is chest pain that all of a sudden starts radiating down your arm, I think it is cause for concern. There are so many problems that mimic heart related causes, but if in doubt, speak to your doctor just to be sure.
