I resumed drinking 1 can of Arizona Green Tea a day (after a little break - no reason in particular, just ran out and hadnt bought any) about 3 weeks ago. Well, around the same time I started getting this chest pain that starts from the middle of my chest and moves around the my back in the same area. Im 29 years old, male, and am not overweight (6' 180lbs). Ill be 30 tomorrow (Is this a sign of whats to come in my 30's or what?!?!
I couldnt figure out why I was having chest pains... certainly I didnt pull a muscle and moving my arm/shoulder in every direction didnt make a difference. With a pulled muscle I surely would've had felt it.
I stopped drinking the green tea last thursday to see if that was the cause. Sure enough, the chest pains were less the next day and virtually gone the day after that.
I should add that I am no stranger to heart issues - I had my first heart cath in 2008, and was on beta blockers for a short stint. I have a horrific family history of heart related death.
I know Green Tea is purported to have health benefits, but am wondering if the Ginseng in the Arizona can of Green Tea was giving me Tachardyia or something and causing me to have chest pain? My chest hurts today again, but I had 2 diet pepsi's for lunch (caffeine). Could Ginseng/Caffeine be related to chest pains?
