Why does there seem to be a longer pause after a PVC than it would normally feel if you just counted the beats? I had a PVC and it seemed like my heart paused for a good 2 seconds then started again
i wore a holter 2 years ago and recorded 6600 pvcs in a day, im on meds now and they are almost all gone, when i do have a pvc, i just feel a long pause and nothing else, although the one i felt today was about 2 seconds, maybe it was just me cause i was standing up and could not count. My BP rose sharply cause it bothered me
Because that's what it is....it's a beat too close to the first one so that the next one seems too far. You have the right number of beats it's jsut that they are not even beats. The next time one happens, cough real hard. That will get it back in sync quicker. Mine does that sometimes (used to do it more often when I did caffeine and and bad antihistamines) and the cough really helps. Read about that in Readers Digest one time....
PVC's or PAC's As I understand it, one is Ventricular and the other is Atrial.
The Ventricular is the bottom part that "vents" out and is the bad one to get.
The top one is Atrial and is benign.
Correct me on this.
