I have severe health anxiety and a few days ago caught a flu bug which has given me a high temp and a fast heartbeat. I know that when you are ill your heartbeat speeds up until you are better but of course the symptoms of myocarditis are almost exactly those of flu!!
I have been given some antibiotics for the bad cough I have got with the flu but cannot stop myself worrying that this flu and the fast heartbeat I have is because the flu virus has gone to my heart
I am actually having a 24 ecg in 10 days time so assume that if I did have virus damage this would show up or so I have read.
does anyone know how common it is for viruses to go to the heart??
