| Shortness of Breath and Excercise
Hi All,
I am a statistically healthy 33 year old male, 160lb. Meaning I dont and have never smoked, dont drink anymore, and have good chelesterol and tris, and exercise most days.
A few months back I had gotten into the habit of not eating breakfast or lunch and was taking myself off of a prescribed Benzo. I had a situation at the gym where my heart rate shot up and did not come down for 10 minutes and I ended up in the ER. They found nothing.
I had been feeling anxious after my workouts and after cardio. I had a full work up EKG, Echo, Stress Test, 30 day event and found nothing. During this time I got very very panicky about increasing my heart rate and didnt exercise for a month.
Now I am back into biking for a month and today I tried to push myself a bit harder in the morning before breakfast and my heart rate shot to 167 up a hill and I had what felt like a bad heartbeat or palp, and I couldnt catch my breath for 2-3 seconds. I had to stop and it returned to normal. I continued riding and every time I went up a hill I was getting palps although the shortness of breath only lasted once.
Also, just climbing stairs now my hear rate is hitting 140-150 with anxiety.
My question is, can all of this be caused by a blockage, and would I get higher heart rate, palps, and shortness with a blockage?.
The Cardio says all is good, and is not worried, but I have heard that a blockage can happen to the young and seemingly healthy, and being young and seemingly healthy they push aside symptoms.
