A little guidance, please!
Around three weeks ago I was helping a friend move into a new flat. Unfortunately, one of my jobs was to lift a very heavy two seater reclining suite up four flights of stairs. Me and a friend carried out two trips, only stopping for a one minute break when reaching the top. Now normally I love to push myself, but after reaching the top on the second occassion I came over all dizzy, began feeling nauseous and generally feeling groggy. I was also extremely hot, to try and bring myself round I went for a lay down and pretty much downed a pint of water. 15 minutes later and a lot cooler I started to feel better, albeit pretty tired and a little shaky.
I at this stage I should out point I used to practically live in the gym around two years ago and never had this occur before (Plenty of cardio, weight work). I've been fairly inactive for the past year due to my job so I'm not as fit as I was. My own thoughts on this experience are that I was overly dehydrated/exhausted, it was early morning so I hadn't eaten or drank anything as of yet and I dived straight into the deep end.
The reason I'm asking for advice is that I mentioned the experience to my father. He seemed concerned as his side of the family has a lot of heart issues, especially high blood pressure. Last time I got my blood pressure checked was around two years ago and it was apparently "normal". Should I be concerned or should I take a trip to the GP to be safe?
Many thanks folks
