| PFO symptoms
For those of you that had a PFO and were symptomatic, what were those symptoms? I'm in my mid-20's and for the last 6 months have been getting short of breath with minimal exertion. Just going up the stairs gets me so out of breath that I sometimes have to sit down. Occasionally I get lightheaded too. An echocardiogram showed that I have decreased left ventricular systolic function with an ejection fraction of 40%. I also have a PFO. It doesn't say how large it is or any other details, just that it was seen. My appt with the cardiologist is over a week away. A doctor friend of mine looked at it and thinks that the PFO is probably large enough that it's causing these symptoms. He's not sure if that would explain the decreased function of my left ventricle though. Anyone else have a similar experience/symptoms?
