Re: what does draining fluid from heart and lungs mean

Hi,
Never heard of draining fluids from heart.

Draining fluids from lungs yes .. this is a sort of "simple" explanation:

Consider that the lungs have a delicate structure that allows oxygen from air to pass to blood. Under certain conditions (some to heart problems) this process is inverted and liquid from the blood passes to lungs, the result is that you start getting breathing problems and the fluid has to be removed.

The normal way to do it, is giving you medication that makes you urinate more than normal and, in that way, the blood gets more concentrated and absorb back the liquids from the lungs.

Draining fluid from the heart usually refers to the draining of a "Pericardial Effusion"..... a fluid buildup around the heart in the Pericardial Sac.

Draining fluid from the lungs usually refers to the draining of a "Pulmonary Effusion"..... a fluid buildup around the lungs in the Pulmonary Sac.

Both conditions could be caused by an injury, disease, infection, health problems, etc.

When fluid builds up in the sacs around the heart or lungs it can cause difficulty breathing, fatigue, palpitations among other symptoms.
