is a raise in bp a sign the stent is plugging ?

Now my bp has been like 110?67 and lower the last few weeks, now today its 127/77 now I know thats not high ut it is higher than it has been. My ? is does bp increase when the stent plugs or another artery plugs ?I hate thinking this way......

Hi cvcman,
Your blood pressure is fine
Your BP needs to be constantly high over a few years to cause any serious damage, 127/77 is not considered high.

Yes, stenosis can cause high BP.

well my bp was 130/87 before the stent, 107/67 for 3 weeks after the stent, now today its going back up again... I heard bp rise was a symptom of blocked artery

Yes, it can be a symptom of a blocked artery.
After my bypass my blood pressure dropped to normal for 5 months..
After 5 months it started to rise .. I was then diagnosed with bilateral renal artery stenosis (blocked kidney arteries).
My blood pressure is now under control - if my arteries close up to 80% I will need stents but for now I just need to keep my BP under control.

Your BP is not high enough to have blocked arteries.

My BP was 188/110

Your BP is fine - stop worrying, if you worry you will make it get higher.

I think you're just worrying too much, have you been referred to a cardiac rehab program?

A cardiac rehab program will help you gain confidence and to learn to live with your heart problem.

yes I have been going as well as riding my bike at home on a trainer...The BP is causing me concern now, there is just no reason for it to jump that much in one day......other than something not good

Honestly, that is not such a big jump.
Try to relax, it'll probably be ok tomorrow.

Re: is a raise in bp a sign the stent is plugging ?

It's really not that high ..
You need to remember that BP changes constanly throughout the day.
If you don't have any other symptoms you should be fine.

I think it's a bit soon for your stent to close up .. but if you're really worried you could see a Dr. or ask the nurse at cardiac rehab next time you go.
