We have had similar experiences. I suffered from SVT since I was 18 and have lived with it, more or less, for most of my almost 70 years.

Happens once or twice a year.

Mine were more frequent, about once per week depending upon how much I drank or smoked.

So no meds I get it to stop with bearing down.

That also worked for me. But what really helped the most was lying on my back and taking in deep breaths and letting them out slowly and forcefully.

Well in the past few years they have got harder to stop will go on for 30 min-hour. Plus I am now haveing strong skipped beats sometimes several times a day and then mabe skip a few days before I feel it again. It catches my breath usually.

Same here. It seems that health problems, especially effecting the heart, don't get better with age, they get worse and more problematic.
I finally had to go on meds like
Coreg
to stop them from happening.

SO I go back to Dr have a moniter and electrocardiogram . The moniter showed VT and Dr says the VT happens very little. He says he found a little fluid around heart but again is normal doesent seem concerned.

I have had frequent problems with "
fluid around the heart", otherwise known as
Pericardial Effusion. It was caused when I lay down too flat, or when I accidentally came into contact with a heart stimulant or heart irritant. As long as my back was upright, somewhat, and as long as I did not come into contact with a heart irritant, I did not get the "
fluid around the heart".
It caused tightness in my chest, breathing problems and general malaise.

We have talked of ablation but he says it wont fix my VT just svt...... I see a regular cardiologist that sent me to this new electrocardiologist since I suggested ablation He gave me a prescription for a low pressor. Havent taken it yet after reading it could cause heart failure along with other stuff if you quit takeing it. Ugg Im SOO tired of worrying about my heart... Now I have vt and fluid and noone sems to take it serious but me |
We only have one heart and we only have one health. It is good that you are taking this seriously and that you are asking questions and reaching out for help and support.
Take care. Best of health to you!
