| Post ASD closure, facing acute COPD
My aunt was diagonosed with ASD of 2.7cm in 2004, the doctor advised her robotic surgery for closure that time (she was 34 at that time). The surgery was done in 2004 and she felt better for 3-4 years (though never recovered fully and always shows symptoms of cough and breathlessness regularly).
In feb 2010, she was diagonosed with arterial enlargement and the air passway from lungs to heart has enlarged, and doctor says that the walls can collapse anytime. The doctor said that surgery is not advisable for her now and only hope is taking some medicines.
Currently, she is been treated with viagra and lupibose but not showing any sign of recovery. She is increasingly getting acute breathlessness problem (even in day to day activities like bathing, dressing, cooking etc), her legs are swelling, and she is turning pale.
Please advice if anybody has experienced similar problem and what treatment is advisable for her.
Regards
Robin
