Calcium score

I was having palpitations occasionally, and saw a cardiologist who had me do a calcium tomography exam. A high score is 400 and mine was a whopping 3400. Does this mean I automatically will have a heart attack in the near future? My chol was 206, my ldl - 112 and my dl - 70, triglycerides - 109. My Dr. wants me to take Lipitor but I read about the many side effects. I want to try a strict diet, suppliments, and exercise and wait 3 months. What do you think? Does lipitor not only prevent new plaque - but also remoce what has ben deposited already?
Thanks.

Re: Calcium score

Cholesterol is an important compound of plasma membrane that maintains cell integrity, and suppressing cholesterol may adversely affact cell health.

Try exercise and diet first, lipitor should be your last choice.

Re: Calcium score

I'd listen to your Doctor and take the Lipitor.
I've been taking lipitor for years and it hasn't affected me.

Lipitor reduces the amount of cholesterol made by the liver.
Lipitor does not remove plaque - there is no magic pill to do that.
