Test results??

Hi,
I just got a copy of my stress test.
The findings are: stress ECG: abnormal est with ST-T wave changes during excercise.
Can anyone tell me what this means? I am seeing my doctor on Friday but I'd really like to know.
Thank you

Re: Test results??

The ST-T sement relates is an area on the ECG that tells if a person is having a heart attack or ischemia (occluded vessels), and also may indicate calcium problems, hypertrophy (enlarged heart....There are benign causes as well. Nevertheless it requires further testing, correlation with symptoms, etc.

Because there was a change of the ST-T during a stress test, there may be some coronary artery occlusions. If you have symptoms of chest pain, that may be supporting evidence...did you complete the test? Where you out of breath and/or have chest pains?

Re: Test results??

Hi and thank you for reply.
No I didn't have chest pains when I was doing the stress test but I do get chest pains that why I went for the testing. I did complete the test and the test said max heart rate was achieved was 159, which represents 90% of the age predicted heart rate. I was out of breath. My doctor wants to see me on Friday and then refer me to a cardiologist. So is this something to worry about??
Thank you again for your help.
