Chest pain in middle of chest

46 year old woman 135 lbs 5 foot 4 inches, non smoker and moderate alccol intake. Very active, would say athlete, jog, cycle, weight lifting, p90x, kayak.
Had high cholesterol 3 years ago but got numbers down with diet and exercise. No history of hearth disease in family. Mother has diabetis type 2 but overweight and smokes and drinks too much.
I have been getting localised moderate chest pain about 2 inches just above the xyphoid process. It makes me uneasy, i fear it is heart related but my mind tells me it probably is of digetive nature. I have no other symptoms, never any pain when jogging or stressed, ot tired, not out of breath no other symptoms at all.
Can gerd or other disease cause chest pain? I am away on vacation, and have a doctor appointment in august, do i need to run to the hospital or is it more likely gerd? I also feel bloated and fear to eat
Thank you

Re: Chest pain in middle of chest

explain :

1)is the pain upon exercetion and stops when you stop ?

2) sharp pain or dull pressure like pain ?

3) ever had an ech stress test ?

If you go to the hospital they will do an ekg / blood work and if nothing shows send you for a stress test. I would recommend you have a exercise stress test performed by a cardio Dr NOT a gp.

No pain on exertion or no pain when i stop. Unexplained random pain.
Not pressure pain, more sharp and dull at the same time
Stress test done many years ago, all clear but it was a along time ago

Re: Chest pain in middle of chest

You really need an echo stress test by a cardio dr, a regular stress test or one done by a tech is worthless. Doesn't sound like yours is heart related but that's the only way to know for sure.
