Hello there, I'm the kind of person who worries about every little thing I feel. I recently had an anxiety attack a few weeks ago (My heart pounded like crazy, went to the hospital, they found nothing wrong) So, now, I feel pains in my chest I have felt before, but the doctor I went to said it was probably due to acid reflux or a pulled muscle right where my upper ribs connect to my sternum. It flared up on my left side a bit, which made me a bit worried. I had blood tests done a few weeks ago and the results under my Cardiovascular Risk Assessment says that everything is fine, nothing too high or too low (i.e, Cholesterol) So, I was wondering, could I have a heart attack when all these things are fine? Or am I just being paranoid? By the way, I'm 17, I turn 18 at the end of November, if that is any help.
Re: Heart Attack Risk with Great Blood Test Results?
The blood test showing nothing means nothing. I had every blood test know to man my chlost numbers were outstanding, my ekg and echo were perfect, the echo stress test I failed and after an angiogram reveled 98% blocked LAD !! But that being said with your age its doubtfull but not impossible that you have a cardiac problem. IF you are that concerned have your Dr make you an apt with a cardioligists for a full workup with stress echo...
I doubt anything is wrong but you never know and if it puts your mind at ease go for it !
Re: Heart Attack Risk with Great Blood Test Results?
I ended up seeing a doctor. It turns out I have an axiety problem, so I got a prescription of Ativan to take whenever I feel an anxiety attack coming on. The doctor said my chest pains were because of the anxiety.
Re: Heart Attack Risk with Great Blood Test Results?
Good, glad you got it sorted out.
For a teenager with normal blood test results, a heart problem is basically impossible. And if you did have one, you would probably have symptoms like severe fatigue with any activity. Like, you'd have to stop and rest after climbing stairs!
