| Re: Norpace for neurogenic heart syndrome
I've had fainting and arrhythmia's since age 9 but largely ignored until I was 42. Everything under the sun was blamed for my episodes like wanting attention, stress, anxiety, not sleeping, not eating, etc etc.
I had a tilt table test that showed profound bradycardia, and my heart stops when I faint so I had to have a pacemaker implanted with an ICD (defribrillator) for malignant arrhythmia's (polymorhphic ventricular tachycardia). I was dx with NCS, OI; hypotenstion, profound bradycardia and malignant arrhythmia's.
Even with a pm/icd, meds and lifestyle changes; I still faint and have problems. In june I fainted and hit my head on the side of the tiled tub suffering a concussion, contusion and sprained neck; when I had my ICD interrogated I found out I had 3 VTach episodes.
It's been a long 35+ year journey for me and I still don't have alot of answers or help because dr's don't understand autonomic disorders very well. Some dr's say it's due to the arrhythmia's and fainting yet others say it's due to the autonomic nervous system and even my HOCM (hypertrophic obstructive Cardiomyopathy).
good luck on norpace and finding what works for you
