I have noticed more frequent events where my heart will suddenly speed up or beat hard to a point I can feel the sensation when I am relaxing and the sensation would go through to my back and would feel a slight tightness/discomfort from my chest when this happens. They can last for as long as an hour then it will stop.
Hi after he checks the heart I would drink 6.25 cups of water for every 100 pounds of body weight. That will allow the blood to be more fluid if there are slight blockages. A cardiologist might help determine with an angiogram whether or not there are blockages in case that needs fixing.

I have had this for years. So many things can cause this..Medications,lack of iron, and other vitamins.Ect ect!!Hopefully your doctor can find out what causes this..However it is not normal to feel your heart beat at rest...
There is no way for anyone on a message board to tell you that it is nothing serious. You need to be checked by a dr. Have you been told you have Cardiac issues??? If so, this may be a sign of a condition worsening or if not it might be your first symptom in being diagnosed with something serious.
Everyone will have moments of rapid heart beats for many different reasons and not all of them are even health concerns or risks, but if while they are happening and you are feeling bad for no reason whatsoever or they last longer than a few minutes it is concerning enough to at least get checked out.
Hope everything checks out ok, but it is much better to be safe than sorry
