Diagnosis and change of meds

Hi everyone

Saw Consultant last week, my diagnosis is Right Ventricular Output Tachycardia. I am on list for Catheter Ablation and my meds are being changed to Diltiazem (was on Bisoprolol)

I have not heard of the Diltiazem, anyone else been on it?

Re: Diagnosis and change of meds

Hi I have been on Diltiazem for about 8 months now.It is a Calcium blocker. I have done very well on it.I do at times get very tired. But I have got very tired even before I took the Diltaizem. I also take Flecianide an ani arrhythmia med. I take the Diltaizem to control the top of my heart and the flecianide to control the bottom. When I first stated the meds I did take it easy for a few days so I could get used to them. At times I did get somewhat dizzy. That has now gone away. I do think the diltiazem has done its job for the most part. I do get some fast heart rates not not as much as I used to. I had a holter monitor for a month before I was put on meds. It showed that 80% of the time I was in as kind of arrhythmia. But the only times I had problems with the arrhythmias was when I was in VT. I now have problems even now and again and even with that it is nothing like before the meds.
My ep dr has also talked about an ablation. I am going to have an ep study Dec 15th. At that time if they are able to they will also do the ablation. Dont know how I feel about it. If they are able to do it I hope it get me off meds all together. But my dr says that there is still a very big chance that it wont.
Good luck to you .
