possible dodgy ticker...

hiya everyone im just after your views on my possible problems.

Iv just turned 32 and decided i want to give the army a shot. so i started training, running/gym work etc. then i noticed i my heart seemed to be beating hard and fast while i was just sat watching tv.. it still does it now but only from time to time.

i went to my doctor and explained to him that i had started training and what my symptom were and asked if he could get me checked out before i go for my army selection.

so far i have had a blood test an ecchocardiograph and i have had to wear an ambulator monitor for 5 days, today been my last day.

i have one more test which is to see a cardiologist on the 23rd jan.

my doctor said when i have had all my test to go back and see him...

my problem is so far i have had 3 tests and no one is telling me anything and im worrying about it because i just want to know if i have any problems???

what are your views on this?? do you think if anything had shown up on the echo and ambultor monitor someone would have been intouch or would they just leave it till iv seen the cardiologist??

its really getting on my nerves not knowing because all i want is to be told im fine so i can join the army.

Re: possible dodgy ticker..

If they find something dangerous you would of been contacted. When I have these tests, my GP and Cardiologist would certainly tell me if it was an issue. They are not going to risk your life.

I am going to have a Holter monitor on the 6th of January, and then be seeing my Cardiologist on the 20th January to review the results.

If the ECG and blood tests don't show your heart doing anything dangerous then I would not worry to much until told otherwise.

I get PAC's (skips and double beats) Cardiologist even said he could hear a murmur. But was not phased or concerned. And said we will do the Holter Monitor and an echo when I see him on the 20th January.

I said I am not going to have a heart attack or drop dead, and he laughed and said "no"

So it made my stress levels lower greatly. If it was urgent, then you would have been rushed more to see the specialist.
