low heart rate

can anyone tell me if a resting heart rate of 63 is anything to be concerned about? i am a 52 yr old female occassionally have PVCs which were checke dout on a hearth cath about 10 yrs ago. cardiologist at that time said my heart cath was normal, and thge PVCs were due to stress...i am taking Lisinopril for b/p and someone told me that it lowers your heart rate? any input would be so appreciated..God Bless

Re: low heart rate

63 bpm is totally normal, especially if you have an active lifestyle. Some athletes' resting rates are significantly lower.

Re: low heart rate

My husband was in the ER last night with bradycardia -his heart rate was 41. The doctor told me they don't worry about a a low heart rate unless it goes below 60. But my husband is 64 so I'm not certain if he meant for men in that age group only or for anyone.

Re: low heart rate

A heart rate of 60 is not dangerously low. A heart rate of 41 IS low.

Re: low heart rate

When the Doc upped my dose of Beta Blockers I was told if my heart rate went below 50 to cut the dose back.

So I'm guessing 50 is the cut off point for the average person.
