| Re: Reversible Ischemia
Ischemia is a condition that occurs when blood flow and oxygen are kept from a particular part of the body.
Cardiac ischemia (Narrowing of the cardiac arteries) is the name for this condition when the heart is the body part targeted.
Reversible Ischemia is a term cardiologists use to indicate that a persons heart can be saved with an intervention before an event like a heart attack. The intervention is usually a stent or bypass, depending on the severity and vessels invloved.
It can also be achieved by a very strict diet - There is a good book by "Dr Dean Ornish" called "Reversing Heart Disease".
