I am a 20 year old non-smoker and have noticed lately that sometimes I get sharp shooting pains on the left side of my chest. It will last for about a minute or two and then will be gone. It really worries me because I'm scared it's my heart. My doctor recently told me last October that I have high cholesterol but I'm not sure that has anything to do with it. I am also on birth control and I'm not sure if that's related either, but I know it says that it could cause heart problems. Any suggestions?
