Results of my stress test - a bit fearful
I just returned from my stress test. I've had several and only been able to stay on about 5 minutes. They also did an echo. It was a pretty thorough test. Anyway, the doctor said the results were "fine" but then he added that I do have a slightly leaky aortic valve. Naturally that really scared me.
When he asked me why I was scared I explained to him that I thought it was serious. He told me it's fairly common as we age. I'm 68. He also told me not to worry and do any type or intensity of exercise I want. He said they'd do another echo in a year and I have a follow-up in six months.
Does anyone here have any experience with this condition? I need to get over this anxiety that's overtaken me. I suffer from severe anxiety anyway.
I've been diagnosed in the past with mitral valve prolapse. I have tachycardia and some stage one high blood pressure.
I'd appreciate some helpful feedback. I sure could use it.
Thank you in advance.
