Hi all - am new to the board. I just had a couple of queries about Supraventricular Tachycardia and was wondering if someone could give me some advice. Just a quick background, I am a 22 year old male who exercises for around 1 hour/day, play multiple sports, etc. I also suffer from mild anxiety.
Last night while I was resting in bed I suddenly felt a bit funny in my chest and felt my pulse - it was racing, which isn't normal as my resting heart rate is fairly low (40's)..but this time it felt abnormally quick. This only lasted for a few seconds and then my heart seemed to return to its normal rhythm..it pumped out a few beats in quick succession and then calmed back down. This was the first time I could remember that I have ever felt anything like this.
I spoke to my GP this morning and he gave me a referral to wear get a 24 hour holter monitor but only said to do this if the same thing happens again. Does this sound like a sign of SVT to anyone? Any cause for concern?
Any advice much appreciated. Cheers!
