I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and a overactive thyroid
And severe panick attacks these are my meds
5mg amlodipine besylate ..blood pressure
10mg lexapro once a day. Anxiety
1mg xanax. Break thru anxiety
130 mg methadone. Opiate addiction
I was also takin methamazole for thyroid but the doc stopped all thyroid
Meds for time being cuz they werent working . Well now the doc prescribed
25mg of Atenolol to take but after reading all the effect im scared to take it
CAN ANYONE PLEASE GIVE ME INFO ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE TAKING THIS

Try not to ever take the stuff. I totally stopped taking 50mgs of Atenolol almost a month ago and I am still having higher than normal blood pressure and my heart has speed up so much I almost want to start taking it again. I'm trying hard not to but it is so annoying trying to get this stuff out of your system. I have been taking Beta blockers for years and it seem that it never gets out of your system. If you haven't started, DON'T.

I've been taking beta blockers for 4 years and don't have a problem.

I'd be more worried about the other meds you're taking than the beta blocker.

Sorry, I don't take atenolol. I take metoprolol 25 mg 2 times a day. This is considered low dose.
Both are beta 1 adrenergic receptor blockers. The side effects of both these drugs are similar except that atenolol doesn't cross the blood brain barrier so it doesn't interfere with your sleep.

In my case, I have been getting dreams every day since I take it, except for a 2 days. They aren't nightmares, but I do hate dreaming.
