| A question about vitamin E
Hi all,
It's good to see some of the old names on here, I used to come on here alot, and this board saved my life!! Thanks to all of you who helped me so much!! I haven't been on here in so long, because my Dad passed away, and the kids and I moved in with my Mom in another state to help her out for a while, and we were there for six months. I don't know if I mentioned any of this or not, it was such a shock when my Dad died. He had restrictive cardiomyopathy, but he was so healthy all of his life, and this suddenly came on, he got swelling of the ankles, and shortness of breath, and he was gone in six months. Anyway, we are back here now, but still don't know where we are going to end up. My husband got a new job in Connecticut, so he is commuting to here from there right now. I don't know anything about the East Coast, and he seems to be worried about how expensive it is there, and also other lifesyle differences that he's worried about. The kids have been through alot, moving to another state and going to school there, coming back here, and now the thought of moving again. Yikes!! Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for everything and let you all know how much help you were to me.
Hopefully I can come on here once in a while, we don't really have a computer set up, and so I use my daughter's laptop. She is always on it, though. I've posted on other boards from time to time, but I am always limited on time on here, since she's usually breathing down my neck!!
Anyway, I was wondering something about vitamin E. I like to take about 800 I.U. per day because of the benefits to the liver, but I noticed tonight there are a couple of different types, and was wondering if the differences are significant. I bought the Nature Made brand, and the one they had that said 100% natural was about twice as much in price, so I thought it might be significant health-wise. The only difference I noticed in the ingredients was that the one I bought says di-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate as the first ingredient, and on the 100% natural, it drops the Acetate in that ingredient. I was just wondering if any of you know if this matters much or not. Since it's good to be careful when your liver enzymes are high, I thought it might be worth checking into. Also, there was one that was called 'water solubilized' also, and I was wondering what that meant.
Thanks so much for any help on this, if anybody knows. I hope you're all doing well!! Thanks again for everything!! Val
