? Safe to take Cholestrol Medcines while on Treaments?

Hello to everyone,
I hope someone may be able to help answer a couple of questions for me.
Does anyone know if it is safe to take a Cholestrol lowering medcation while on Treaments of Interferon and Ribavirin?
My general practitioner wants me to begin taking a precsription to lower my cholesterol right away because it is at 327.
I am concerned about my blood getting too thin by taking this while on treatments, which I am to start in the next couple of weeks.
I am concerned about having high cholestrol, but at the same time, do not want to do more harm than good.
Does anyone have any opinions on this?
Also, does anyone know if drinking decafe coffee or decafe tea is ok?

Thanbey, if you read this thread, I sent you two replies in regard to my previous post on "PegIntron w/Ribavirin (or) Pegasys w/Ribavirin".
I am new to this board and I did not know how to reply direcly to you.
I hope I did it right and that you read my replies.
Thank you so very much for all the great information!
Cathy

Re: ? Safe to take Cholestrol Medcines while on Treaments?

My doctor told me that I can hold off on any Cholestrol lowering medications until I finish my treatments. He feels like my Cholestrol it will go down some on it's own after the treatments, and if not, he said we can deal with it then. That sounds good to me. The less medicines I have to take the better!
