He cannot legally be denied the job even if he is hepatitis C positive.
To protect himself, he needs to get a WRITTEN offer letter prior to having any physical exams.
A recent (2002) Supreme Court decision specifically on employment and hepatitis C found that he cannot be denied employment UNLESS a specialist in liver disease says he is unable to perform the job. The company doctors are not sufficient to make this determination.
There is almost no circumstance where having hepC would eliminate a person from employment.
But protect yourself anyway and always get the offer in writing FIRST.
