My theory on this is that "awareness" most often means talking about treatment and is often supported by those who make treatments. Few resources are available for true awareness and fewer organizations still are willing to stick their necks out and talk bluntly about the issues affecting positive people.
The organization I founded has as it's motto and mission "get tested."
Amazingly, we have survived for 15 years talking about the difficult stuff and speaking out on issues that need to be talked about such as the ones you raise. Continue talking about this wherever you go and do not be discouraged by ignorance.
