question regarding hep B

I have 2 of the 3 shots for hep B. I decided to get vaccinated because my new GF is positive for hep B. A month after the second shot we had sex for the first time using protection. A week later I felt sick. Had flu like symptoms, felt tire.

Could this be from the second vaccine shot? I read similar stories in other forums. My gf and I were very carefull and even if i was diagnosed by her it'll take a few months for symptoms to show correct?

Just to be on the safe side i want to test and i called to see which test i should take and they recommended me to take the Hepatitis B Surface Antigen Test. But I'll have to wait another two weeks because they said its got to be atlest 4 weeks after sexual contact for the results to be accurate.

Is this the right test for me to see if i was infected or no? cause there are alot of test for Hep B.

I also was on my 2nd shot due to my partner having hep b. We were also practicing safe sex, but I got it. It's a very strong virus and can live outside the body up to 7 days. My first symptoms were dark urine and I felt like I had the flu. My doctor did a full blood work up for hep A, B, C and I tested positive for Hep b. I have been getting blood work done every other week and thing's are getting better. I hope you get your test done ASAP and have better results. I was not told to wait to be tested...

question is were u practicing safe sex before the shots or after ur second shots? how long after exposure did u start getting symptoms? depending on how safe u two were...did u guys do alot of french kissing ?? u can get it through saliva too so its possible. Also I believe you can test positive if you had ur shots....update me if you can on that. its been three weeks since we had safe sex for the first time...symptoms have been tireness, discomfort in the stomach area and also my right ribcage after a week. I been told its possible that the hep B shots can cause them also. And Hep B symptoms are usually slow to develop so I am not too worried. Just want to test to make sure.

I'll be testing in two weeks...i was told by specialist you have to wait atleast a month after exposure (if u were exposed) for accurate test results. Hoping for the best

Re: question regarding hep B

We were having safe sex while going though the shots. You need to have all three shots to prevent from getting hep b. My symptoms started within in three weeks, but everyone is different. Some people don't show any symtoms at all and never know they have it. I was told that it was good that I had the symptoms showing that I was fighting the virus.
