Liver Biopsy Update Part 2

Sorry I haven't written lately. As for an update, my genotype is 2b, so I guess that is pretty good. Had my liver biopsy and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. If anyone has any questions please let me know. I don't have the physical print-out of my report but I spoke with the nurse pract. and she informed that the the biopsy determined "mild liver inflamation w/ no signs of fibrosis". So, I guess it is good that I don't have any signs of fibrosis, but what about the inflamation. Any ideas? Does alcohol cause this? How about certain foods? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I am still a little nervous.

Re: Liver Biopsy Update Part 2

How are the buffalo in NY? I couldn't resist. That's good you don't have any fibrosis. I bet enough alcohal or certain meds could make it a tad inflamed. If your liver has to process everything then I'd wager food would play a part as well. Years ago, I didn't have quite the knowledge or understanding of how the body functions so consequently I couldn't respect it. It took some time (being ill) to change all that. I really enjoy a beer
(not every day) towards the evening...I don't have two anymore, and drink that instead of the two glasses of wine I use to have. I wonder if that's bad but I'm a bit in the dark...tell myself, they would of dectected cirrhosis (isn't fibrosis the same?)
Ok, I heard a fatty liver is easy to dectect...wonder if that would be the same for fibrosis? I found out I had a calcified granuloma along with two other liver masses they figured were hemangiomas? (no problems with the gallbladder or stones). I have pain on the right side under the rib though but not the type of pain a stone would cause anyway. I'm working my way to get a biopsy as I have no insurance. Do you think they'd take it on the part which reveals the mass or granuloma? Thanks
