Ralph-
when I went for my biopcy,I was given nothing, no local nothing, the specilist doing the biopcy said that they want people to Not have the local or pain meds as they want to know right away if there is somthing wrong.
I am not tryng to scare you here, but its a big, large intimidating needle, the good news is that it is litteraly shot into you in a split second, therefore most do not feel a thing.
I was one in tens of thousands that things did not go good for, all my internal organs seemed to have constricted into a spasam, it took three attempts to get the sample, I was in so much pain after the second shot I could not even speak to say QUIT, but had I quit I would just had to do it all over again in a couple of weeks.
If or I should say when I go in again for an biopcy,
I WILL ask for a local and a seditive with a pain killer on stand by, it is my opinion that the local would be a good thing, [as with the seditive haha].
The odds are in your favor for an complete painless easy biopcy, most I know that had a biopcy done said it was over before they thought it was going to start, they make you lay on your biopcy side for several hours, so you will have to write that test, ha ha.
Somtimes you hear stuff that make it seem frightning, but it is really not a bad thing to go though, and it is a very important tool to see what stage your at and/or if you might decide for treatment.
Here is hoping that it will be a "tip toe though the tulips" for you, be well.
