Hi All,

Shot #5 was Friday. Hubby also had some labs done so we'll get those results in 2 weeks, at which time he'll have yet ANOTHER set of blood tests.

Gerrys decided the leg is the spot. I figure if it starts getting red, he'll change his mind. He said he didn't like the dead feeling it leaves in his arm. Says the leg does the same thing but doesn't notice it as much. He said it stays kinda numb for a day or two then it itches but not real bad. It's NEVER turned red like some people have explained to me.

Friday night he slept pretty good. Kind of tossed and turned but not as bad. He did take the 2 tylenol before the shot this week.

Saturday he had a day in the morning with his Dad and brother. He had to move....his welder, our trailer, 2 cars and a boat out of the garage in order to get his Dad's buggy out of the backyard. He likes to do things HIS way (Ladies, you know how MEN are) and his Dad likes to do things HIS way so they got into an argument about moving the boat out into the street, it was actually quite comical up until the point where his brother tried to get the trailer out and broke 2 lights (which were just replaced) as he got close to the wall....I've never seen Gerry get that vocal or hostile towards his Dad...I shut my mouth, there was a deathly silence and I promptly went back into the house. Think the shot fuse comes with treatment.

They finally got it all done, Gerry just sat on the couch and was very, very pale. His Dad called laster that day and commented on it.

Gerry was just really, really tired all day long. He said this is the most tired he's ever felt. He actually.......hold your breath....TOOK A NAP! I got home from shopping and he said that his stomach was a little upset, a big headache but he didn't want anything. He tried to lay there as long as he could but he gets soooo bored, he started fiddling in the garage. He came in the house 2-3 times to just sit down. He was very, very pale all day.

Kids and I rented movies and he sat through MAID IN MANHATTAN and THE TUXEDO until 10pm...I was impressed. He did take 2 reg. tylenol before the movie because he was getting hot, cold but mostly hot. He drank over his 1 gallon of water plus some juices and clear soda at lunch. I can't stress enough how important I think the water is to those of you ON treatment or thinking about it.

He sweated up a storm until about 3am at which time I gave him some Advil (hey, I was tired of him tossing and turning) hoping it would work better than Tylenol. He finally fell asleep and belive it or not we both slept until 8am this morning, I was shocked. He even layed in bed until I was done cooking breakfast at 8:30---never has he slept that late.

Another word of advice for those not yet or just starting treatment. I was washing sheets every DAY and getting sick of making our KING size bed. I finally got one of those mattress pads (waterproof on one side)they have in hospitals, cut it in half and that's on his side of the bed---just lays there. I just throw it in the wash everyday along with our top sheet and pillow cases. It beats washing the bottom and mattress pad too!!!!

Today he's been down and up and down and up but mostly down. I even layed down with him so he'd stop getting so pale looking when he over did it while bike riding with my son. He kinda napped. Says his head is a little itchy but not real bad. His fever isn't bad today. No stomach problems.

All in all his sides are manageable but there none the less. Nothing like we thought they'd be.....I'm still glad we prepared ourselves for the worst.
