Well, I had the usual Friday night AA meeting, and when I got home I did the regular shot and a movie. No sides at all. I woke up today feeling fine. I washed the dogs and things are just like normal. I am going kayaking tomorrow. I feel so blessed to have hardly any sides. I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Sounds like you are having a good go at tx. I haven't been on long but when the sides seem to hit they really put me out - like a ton of bricks just fell on me but the good days totally out way them. Today is a good day so I am gratefull. How long in AA? I am a recovering addict of 4 yrs last April 30 - YAHOO ! Doing the shot once a week is a bit rough but John tells me that it is something with a good outcome not a bad one so I remember that each time so far. Well, hope you have an awesome weekend. What kind of dogs do you have? We have a 140 male Rottweiler who is just a sweetheart. Well, take care. Louise

I will have 4 years in October. I too am a recovering addict. The first time I tried tx, I was drinking and having the syringes in my possession and just the right (or wrong) buzz, and having just gotten meprigan after a root canal, didn't mix to well. Needless to say, I relapsed. Not that I was entirely clean and sober at that point. This time on tx is different. I know better. My relationship with God is stronger and I realize that I don't have to give in to that awful extremity. Life is too sweet!

I have a Siberian Husky and an American Eskimo Dog (Spitz). I LOVE them so much! They are such great companions! I could never imagine life without a dog. My sister has a Rotwieller, named Pixie. She is a puppy and still a handful, but SWEET as she could be. They live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Lorna, I am so glad you are coming along so well. And at week 6 its a good indication of what the rest of your treatment will be.

I've been sober for 3 years but I had this horrible dream about a week ago that I was out to dinner and had that 1 glass on wine, the next thing you know I had about 6 when a member of my support group came in and looked at me horrified! I started making excuses then it dawned on my that I had drank again AND I was on treatment. Gosh it was so real!!! I woke up in a cold sweat and had to remember if I was recalling the night before (I used to black out a lot). It took days to get over. I felt the same as if I had slipped!

Thanks for letting me share. I feels good to tell someone that. I promise I'm not crazy.
