I want to thank all the people who replied so positively to my posting last week about being week 12 undetectable. It makes me feel better knowing I am not the only one dealing with this flood of emotions. I think I have seen the worst of it and again want to encourage anyone that is putting off starting treatment to "take the plunge". This thing will not go away unless you take that step, I was terrified to start and now I am so glad I did!!! Another thing I am so glad about is finding this site, I have not told many people about my illness mainly in fear of their reaction towards me or my family. My Dr. encouages me to tell all family and friends but I think he is wrong, I come from a very small town with alot of small mind people and I know not many reactions would be positive. Its fear of my wife and 4 year old daughter being alienated by friends and family that gets to me. Anyway, it feels so good to get on here and talk with all of you freely about my condition. I know none of you know me but I really want to thank each and every one of you that reply to postings on here, it means alot to get answers from people that are going through the same thing you are.

Anytime Cajun, I certainly understand where you are coming from. Again, congratulations on your clearence. HOORAY for you!

People can be small minded so tell who you choose when you choose! Its totally up to you. I haven't told many either, just close family, friends, and only my boss at work. I swore him to secrecy and thru in the fact that he has to keep my medical condition private per our bank policy.

Anyway, keep up your positive attitude and let us know how you are doing. I go in the 14th of July for my 12 week PCR so if you believe in prayer put me on your list!!!

I remember finding these and other boards and it felt like a safety line was tossed to me! It was a GREAT relief!

I understand your reluctance to tell. I come from a very small town, where education is really needed. I am one that did come forward regarding my disease. I hope to rid some of the stigma before it gets started in this town. However, I certainly understand your reluctance to tell, I felt the same way for a long time, but try to now educate. You will know in your heart of hearts when it is time to "tell" and who to tell.
