I'm scheduled to complete the 48-week Pegintron/Rebetol at the end of July. The side effects I experienced during treatment matched those detailed in most of the medical literature I could find. My concern now is what problems/side-effects should I expect once treatment is completed?

Along with the Peg/Reb medications I'm also taking Neupogin for my white blood cell count. I'm concerned that in about four weeks I'll simply stop all medications and simply don't know what to expect.

Does anyone know where I can find any technical/medical literature that details what the post-treatment response might be?

hi jhl, my thoughts continue to get clearer every week. my wbc started to normalize quickly. the aches and paind that were present before treatment are still there. i have gallbladder problems now. the headaches are still there, but i was in a car accident that ruptured and herniated 3 disks in my neck just before stopping treatment which isn't helping.

i bet you are excited about the 48th being so near!

Thanks Wes. I remember reading about your accident in a previous posting. I hope you're feeling better.

What I'm looking to find is a pseudo-technical/medical document that details what short-term response is expected in patients immediately after comming off of the medication. Again, the side effects for patients during treatment is well documented but I don't know where to find any post-tx information.

I was one of the lucky few who was able to get some time off from work. My primary care physician has been great during the treatment as we only needed to read the numerous documentation concerning side effects in order to justify my taking the time off. What I'm hoping to do however is use an extra 2-3 weeks to get off of ALL of the medications but I'd need some documentation (or suggestions) in order to support this request.

I'm hoping to see my doctor within the next 2 days so ANY responses are appreciated!

JHL, in the literature about side effects, it states something about some but not all effects being temporary. i havn't seen which of those effects they are referring to. maybe it's still a variable in most people (they don't know yet either)
