1st Pegatron shot, lots more to go - Hepatitis Message Board

just started Pegatron June 30th. 1st shot felt like a cement truck dumped on me about 12 hours after. If anyone else is just starting to & wants to go through the treatment together, keep in touch with me. I don't have a spouse to help me through it so any advice from another Hep C person would help. I'm keeping a positive attitude but it may be drowned with treatment soon.

Hey Popcorn! WELCOME to the board. The first 2 shots were rough for me. Since then, I have been virtually side effect free. Drink lots of water. Also Keep that positive attitude! It really helps!

thanks for the reply. I am already experiencing symptons that I thought I would get till further on in the treatment. I have a rash on my hands that came out of nowhere, brain fog really bad, heartburn & boy ,the sun just kills me. Question for someone - the nurse told me to take 2 Tylenol PM & 2 gravel for first shot. I was so sleepy the next day. Think I might back off on that. So the first 2 are the worse?. I have to go to work the next day, don't think I can do it if they all are like the first shot.

Welcome Pop! Sorry you are feeling so bad. I really hate to hear that. I would imagine you are groggy with 2 Tylenol PMs. Its got benedryl in it and it knocks me for a loop too.

I had the rash on my hands also. It still comes and goes and is kinda like little blisters. They gave me Diprolyne (something like that). Its made by Schering and the drug reps give samples to the MD to hand out to patients if they have a rash. Its good stuff too so ask for it when you go get your next blood work done.

We are here for you so feel free to ask anything you want. Treatment is different for everyone.
