Post Dare I report on shot #8

It's me, one of those "low-life" people on tx. I am feeling very judged here. I am almost afraid to report how it went. In fact, I am not sure I even want to be on this board anymore. Sometimes people can let their egos get out of hand. It is nice to have knowledge, however not if that knowledge comes from such a biased source. I have done nothing but encourage people on either side of the issue (to treat or not to treat). We all have our own cross to bear. I have never put anyone down for there choice not to treat! In fact, they may be braver than I am. However, I will not sit by and have people chastize me for my choice to treat, or for sharing my experience, strength, and hope. We all need support . . . even people without Hepatitis. It makes me sick to think that I was under the illusion that this was a good place to find support. It has rapidly become a good place to just get some technical data. How impersonal is that?

Well, for those who care, or those on tx (lest I offend anyone) shot #8 went well. I have the worst bruise yet on the injection site, but it doeasn't even hurt. I picked up my sister and nephew on Saturday and we spent most of Sunday packing up my apartment gearing up for my move. I got so much accomplished! Other than being a bit tired and dried out, I can not even tell that I am on tx. Most of the time I think being tired comes from doing too much and pushing myself too hard.

Anyway, I hope this message finds everyone doing well, regardless of whether they are on tx or not. And a special shout out to Jemah, Neil, Jeanie, Mj, and Faith. Don't be surprised if I slowly migrate away from this board. My personal email address is: <doone@bellsouth.net> if you'd like to keep in touch or tell me of another board that might be more accepting and less judgemental.

Love sees no color or disease.

Take care and God bless,
~Lorna Doone

Hi Doone==

I think everyone here wishes you the very very best with your tx. I can't remember anyone putting you down, only people raising issues about interferon treatment. YOU are not interferon, just someone taking it.

Anyway, I appreciate that it can be hard, while on tx, to hear some of these debates. But, please don't take it personally. No one wants anything but the quickest, most thorough response for you, with the fewest and mildest possible side effects.

Furthermore, most posters on this board are themselves on treatment, are about to be, or have been, so you have many many partners here. Don't get discouraged just becasuse some of us are not on tx, or don't favor it much. Even among the docs in the field, these issues are still very much in debate. Doesn't reflect on you at all, just on the many uncertainties there are about hep c and interferon.

Be well! You're working hard to achieve that goal, we ALL are pulling for you to reach it.

Hi Lorna
Well what the heck happened???????? Did I miss a post somewhere along the way that was hurtful? I have loved reading all your posts and for me posting my husbands journey on Tx is to help others to see what Tx is all about for him, how is doing, sides, test results etc. I have had to weed out any negative comments that I feel isn't helpful to me at this time. like anything else in life. Take what you want and leave the rest. I hope you come back and post on how you are managing. Take care.

Faith

Cool

Howdy Lorna,-
I know exactly what you are speaking of, just to let you know, I personally,[and I know many others are also] here for you in support and freindship,

If you fade away from here, what you speak of GETS what agenda it is striving for, remember just ignore the negative, absorb the Positive and you go Girl,
he he.

Hi Lorna, don't let others get you down or let them determine where you post. This is a public forum and not operated or owned by anyone posting here. Speak your piece girl and nothing wrong with standing up for yourself. I too get tired on all the technical stuff as it doesn't add anything for me. I had to quit reading it because it was discouraging me and I am going to see treatment thru to the end. Besides I have enough issues to deal with without letting some unsupported updates get me down.

Now, I am going to get on to you! Don't ever speak of yourself in negative terms. You ARE NOT a low life and have never been one! You are going to beat this thing and then let them tell you treatment doesn't work!

Glad #8 went well. I had a hard time with my energy level around this time but it rebounded and now I just feel really out of shape (which I am!)

I too have really dry skin. I've never had that problem before and it looks terrible. I drink and drink to keep hydrated and that seems to help some. I'm going to try Lubriderm as it doesn't have all the perfumes in it (which breaks me out). I'm am just a sensitive soul

For me keeping active is the key to treatment. The more you live your life to normal the more normal it is. Did that make ANY sense??

Hang in there Lorna and don't leave us!!!! I'll email you off here.

Take care,
Jeannie
