Hi~~ I haven't been on this site long, but I did the 51 weeks of Peg-Intron from Nov 2001-Nov 2002. I cleared in the 5th month ( could have been sooner, but that is just when they did the test on me) Enzymes went normal in the 5th week (again, could have been sooner) I stayed medically negative < tha 5 copies since then and now 8 months post tx, I got a call yesterday, that it was "climbing" meaning the results of the quantisure sensitivity test. The number is 90. My enzymes and other bloodwork are good, normal enzymes, 15 & 30 plateletes 160, wbc 5.8. I even got a note on my blood work from the nurse b4 the results of the quantisure that "everything looks wonderful". THEN boom!!! a week later the quantisure test comes back and shows its climbing. If they will let me, I want back on tx TODAY. I can do the side effects even though they were horrendous, but the kind of side effects I worry about the ones where treatment won't let my blood work hold up to finish it. This time if they will let me I do want pegasys. I am genotype 2 b with cirrochiss~complete.Any thoughts suggestion, ideas, advice are welcome as right now I am not thinking straight. I just found out yest, but I do have a dr.'s appt tody. Cjari

Sounds like you have made up your mind to try treatment again.

I am not sure what advice you are looking for on that score, so let us know what your doctor says. I will be interested to know what you decide together.

sorry to hear that. it has to hurt. i think i might make the same decision in the same situation. i wonder where it was hiding...i never will understand why gi docs are controlling this thing.

I am sorry to hear that unfortunate news. I know that you must be having a difficult time dealing with it. Hang in there. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Remember to take it one day at a time. I am also a 2b and taking the Pegasys. The side effects are very mild.

51 months is a long time but I certainly understand why you would want to treat. Did the cirrhosis improve during treatment?

If you are a believer honey, just pray for God's will.
