Consider that since viral load is not a good indicator of liver damage and is not even used in Great Britain, why is tx concentrated on minimizing viral load? Does this imply that liver damage could be occurring even if SVR is achieved?

If they don't measure viral load in GB, what measurement do they use to determine if treatment is working? One biopsy was enough for me.

Stage 2 or 3 liver damage from biopsy qualifies you for treatment. After 24 weeks, the "qualitative" PCR test is done to determine if virus is present. This is my understanding ...

i imagine blood viral load is the easiest, least invasive way of measuring if the virus is being killed.
