Howdy-
Ufortunate News as I was watching this drug, it coulded have made a real difference in our fight,

The clinical trials and research for Boehringer Ingelheim’s BILN 2061, a protease inhibitor, have been stopped due to cardiac toxicity. It is so disappointing because this drug showed such promise. As reported in a pril newsletter,
BILN 2061 had reduced viral levels by a range of a hundredfold to more than a thousandfold in a small number of patients with chronic Hepatitis C, genotype 1, who took the drug orally for only two days.

I was disappointed to hear this news also. However, aren't there more protease inhibitors in clinical trials. Perhaps we will have more luck with those. Does anyone know what phase this drug was in before it was stopped??

Bummer but better to find out now than later. I feel for those people who risked their health for this.

Any news on Zadaxine?

Jeannie-
I know of several people taken Zadaxin with their Pegasys, they beleive in it 100% and claim it takes away sides and brain fog, but one at 32 weeks was still detected, this mind you is his third round, some people for unknown reasons just dio not respond to and interferons, or treatments regarding HCV.
