nausea and hep c - Hepatitis Message Board

I have been diagnosed with hep c since 1992 when my dr notice my enyymes were elevated but have probabley been infected for about 20 years. My liver enzymes have never been elevated since and at this time i have decided not to try treatment. I have had a couple of scans which showed a fatty liver (not sure what that exactly means)but no scarring. I am rather educated on hep c and understand that the enzyme level and scan is not a clear detection on the condition of my liver. But at this time i am not ready to take a biopsy and/or treatment. However i try to eat healthy and do not drink alcohol at all. My question is what can i take for nausea? Any advised would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi! I currently take Compazine to help with my nausea. There is also Zofran which is good but very expensive. For over the counter some have suggested taking Emetrol and drinking ginger ale. Neither of these helped me but they may work for you. Take care.

Why are you experiencing the nausea? I haven't heard of anyone feeling that way just because of hcv. Not that it isn't possible, we don't know to much about all of this yet. Are you on any medication?

12mc. I know of many Hep C patients that suffer from nausea. It is one of the side effects if you look them up. I also have suffered the nausea almost daily since I got my Hep also. Just wanted to let you know that is common for it to happen with Hep C.
