I am not sure if I should get excited or depressed.
My wife's insurance will change from the Cigna hmo we have now to the TRS teacher retirement insurance even though she works full time in January.
The are not offering an HMO only 3 versions of what they call active care 1, 2, & 3 through blue cross blue shield.
They are a little over $600.00 for #1 $800.00 for #2 & $1000.00 For #3.
All are 80/20 plans with deductibles.
The one for $600.00 the deductible is $1000.00 per person before the 80/20 kicks & your office calls & prescriptons go towards meeting the deductible but you have to spend it first.
$2000.00 per person max out of pocket so that means worst case that's $3000.00 ea x 3 $9000.00 we could be out as a family of 3 on top of paying over $600.00 a month for it.
The next two are a little better but cost more but have office co pays & prescription co pays.
IT JUST NEVER QUITS DOES IT ?

I am excited for you that you have insurance and jobs. In this economy, many don't.

I do understand your position though. Seems that insurance rates are rising all the time and benefits are diminishing. Except for our elected officials, that is. They are doing just fine.
