Cool Health with Hep C

Can you please tell me what foods or vitamins to stay away from and which I should have more of. I was told I have hepatitis C antibodies when I went to donate blood in 2000. I went to the GP who did a liver function test and said it is fine. They could not tell me how long I had it. Please give me any advice you can. Should I see a liver specialist or a virologist? The doctors dont seem very helpful at the medical center. They told me there is nothing I can take, but the pharmatist gave me milk thistle.

Very simple go to a major Hospital or University and seek out the best they have to offer.

I'm in the U.S. and I went to a gastroenterologist here for my Hep C. I am now 9 months Post TX and continue to be virus undetectable. I too found out when donating blood.
The blood work I do is called an HCV, RNA, PCR, QN.
I don't think there's anyway they can know how long you have had it. And I don't know what it means to have antibodies for HCV or to have HCV.

Re: Health with Hep C

Thanks for info on gastroenterologist. I will look for one. Thats what I dont understand, if a person has hepatitis c antibodies does that mean you have hepatitis c or just that you have had it. For example if a person has german measles antibodies it can mean they had german measles but do not currently have it. Is it just assumed that if you have the antibodies you are currently infected? Does post TX mean post treatment? Eyesworld what treatment did you have?

yes,
TX means treatment
DX is diagnosis
I don't know about the antibodies. I have a doc appt in 2 weeks and I'll ask him.
I did the Pegasus/Interferon treatment-injections and pills-Ribaviran-It was not bad to begin with but the last 3 months were horrible. I've remained virus undetectable for the past 10 months
