Need Some Advice

Hey guys i need some advice regarding a situation that has recently unfolded,

About 2/3 months ago I received a back massage from a colleague in work who is a trained masseuse. At the time I had some nasty spots on my upper back that were particularly volatile and bloody. My colleague has Hep C and Haemophilia and from my understanding Hep C cannot be transmitted out with blood-to-blood or sexual contact.

The last month however I’ve started experience symptoms such as coughing and sneezing, painful aching around my knees and a constant pain around the area where my live is situated in the upper right abdominal area. I went for blood tests at my GP and they gave me the usual tests, however they asked me to come back in a month’s time for another liver function test. I went for that today and the nurse said my last liver function test was "slightly high" and they just wanted to double check it as it was a bit off. I get the results for that on Friday.

I wanted you guys advice, am I being stupid here or is there a real threat that I coulda caught hep c from my colleague? On that day of the massage I remember none of my spots actually burst cause there was no blood and also my colleague had no cuts on his hands of any sorts or was bleeding, specifically since he is a haemophilia.

Any advice you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt very much that someone who is aware that they have HCV would let there be blood contact while giving a massage. Just get yourself checked out to ease your mind. I also don't beleive that your symptoms sound like HCV-perhaps a low grade infection-you're going to be fine.

Re: Need Some Advice

no, i was not mocking you. if you have an infection your levels might rise some. the brain is a very powerful if you think you caught something and know the symptoms the brain could be triggered and you will experience those symtoms. it happened to me, my friend had hep b and i drank after him and thought s..t i caught it. i went home and started having those symptoms. i finally convinced myself there's no way i got this hep from that one drink and the symptoms went away. the moral here is have a very positive attitude and tell yourself there is no way i got hep.
